Advanced Tools For Exposure
Assessment and Biomonitoring

Projects

ESR12 Developing non-invasive methods for monitoring human body burdens.

At VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research), ESR12 will explore the utility of non-invasive matrices like hair, saliva, blood spots and urine as biomarkers of internal exposure to a range of representative compounds targeted by A-TEAM. It is worth reminding that we are already involving non-invasive matrices in the study, but for now we are talking about a specific segment of the study. Namely, about the percentage of pollution in them and their various reactions and influences. You can learn more about this from the professional letter writer service. A secondment to the University of Antwerp (where there is substantial previous experience in this area) will provide additional training in sampling and preparation for analysis of such matrices. Concentrations of contaminants in such samples will be examined for correlation with those present in matched samples of validated biomarkers such as blood serum.
